A New-York native, Dr. Geraci was drawn to dentistry because he enjoys medicine and working with his hands. He recognizes that patients truly appreciate the unique approach and specialized care he provides. He is a huge proponent of preventive screenings and treatments, including oral cancer screenings, which Greater Long Island Dental is equipped to perform.
My name is Anthony Geraci. I've lived in the New York area for most of my
life with the exception of when I went to Buffalo for dental school.
I was led into dentistry by the fact that I love working with my hands.
Part of what I did at NYU, I did a lot of experiments where I did work with
my hands and experimentation on the bench.
My patients appreciate that kind of care. They look at me and say, "No one
has ever done this for me before." And I say, "Well, we want to set
ourselves apart from just a routine dental office." You know, we not only
check blood pressure, we do an oral cancer screening test. The high
mortality rate of oral cancer is high because it gets neglected, and it
doesn't get checked. It doesn't get found. It gets found in later stages.
We all know that early detection is key and paramount to any disease
process being eliminated, treated, hopefully eradicated.
What I'd like to have people know about me is that I care. I take extensive
continuing education. I try to bring my skill and knowledge and impart that
to my patients, and in turn, I hope that they appreciate what I do to make
their lives better, because my patients do make my life better.
