Diana Backer, DDS

Dr. Backer is a mercury-free holistic dentist with over a decade of experience practicing holistic dentistry. Compassionate and caring, her approach to dental care places emphasis on creating and maintaining a strong, healthy, and beautiful smile by using biocompatible materials for optimal health.

Dr. Backer discovered her passion for dentistry at the early age of 16. Working as a dental assistant through high school and  attending the State University of New York at Farmingdale dental hygiene program gave Dr. Backer real-world dental experience at a young age and a stable foundation for her lifelong career. 

It was her love of practicing hygiene combined with the desire to expand her knowledge and utilize her natural artistic abilities that led her to enroll at the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. 

The school was the first in the world to offer a science-based curriculum in dentistry and has been committed to maintaining its position as a leader in oral health education since 1840. 

After graduation in 2000, Dr. Backer completed a year of general practice residency and countless hours of continuing education. She acquired the knowledge and skills to deliver the most current and holistic preventative, restorative, and cosmetic dental procedures like NuCalm holistic sedation with attention to detail and a gentle touch.
